Although a native of New England, Philippe grew up primarily in Rochester, NY while also spending considerable time in Cape Cod and his father's home country of France. He earned his BA at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where he studied French and Art History. He then returned to Boston before moving to Charlottesville, VA and eventually back to Rochester, where he lives with his wife and two daughters. He is currently pursuing his MFA at the Visual Studies Workshop.
